Klabunde, Carl Wilhelm-[268] ^{1 2}

   Another name for Carl was Klabunda, Karl.

  Research Notes:

While Carl's place of death is not certain, he is quite certainly the Carl Klabunda buried beside his mother-in-law (Hanna nee:Haupt Mueller & Korn) in the Denzer cemetery.

The "Wilhelm" middle name comes from the IGI record used for his marriage to ??? Mueller. That record gives no parents for either Carl or nee:Mueller, and has no source, but does have more exact dates, and gives Persanzig as Carl's birthplace. Yet another IGI record w/o source gives same birthplace but year 1821.

IGI has numerous possibilities for Carl's parents, perhaps too many. I don't feel we need to find his parents, so didn't chance trying to put that together - this is quite complex enough already!

The surname Klabunde is AKA Klabunda, both versions seen used as we put this branch together.

• Alt. Birth, 1818, Storkow, Neustettin.

Carl married Albertina Wilhelmina Mueller-[271] [MRIN: 97], daughter of Fredrich L Mueller-[395] and Private, on 11 Mar 1857 in Gramenz, Neustettin. (Albertina Wilhelmina Mueller-[271] was born in 1826 in Storkow, Neustettin, died in 1877 and was buried in Watertown Codington SD.)

  Marriage Events:

• Alt. Marriage: LDS IGI, Abt 1863, Gramenz, Neustettin. ³ This record gives Carl's birth as 1818 in Preussen, lists children August b.abt.1864 and Julius b.abt.1866, both in Pruessen

• Immigration: from Neustettin, 1866-1870, Sauk County WI. believed to have come to Sauk County, but by 1880 son August was living in Portage, Columbia County.

  Marriage Notes:

There are several possibilities for matches found in LDS IGI, and perhaps there were two Klabunde/Mueller marriages at about the same time and in essentially the same place. This will take more cogitating to figure out with more certainty!

But this is the most specific of several records, and the ONLY one with "exact" date and place of marriage, therefore this date/place is being used here, and others shown as alternates. The biggest headache with this IGI record is her name Christine... which is found nowhere else but must be an aka for Albertina! Another problem is the lack of a film source - "submitted by a member of the LDS church" which means this could well be yet more family lore!

Another IGI record gives her hame as Ernstine Whilhelmine Friederike Müller (No Christine) but married in Storkow (not that far from Gramenz) on the same 11 Mar 1857. This record gives her birthdate as <1836>, so there are many differing opinions of this!
